Lego Mania

Matthew is a huge lego fan. He has been able to build things I can't for a few years now. Just recently Nolan has taken an interest and is really getting creative. The other day he made me a giraffe that looked like a giraffe (a lego one anyway). Here is a pic of him with one of his many creations.

Colin's Visit to the Dentist

The Dentist and his staff are always so amazed at how "good" Colin is at the dentist. They are always prepared for a screaming 2-3 year old and he just climbs right up on the table. He had a little trouble this time because his top tooth was hurting (from running into the wall), but he made it through just fine. Nolan is also a good helper. He and Matthew had been to the dentist a couple of weeks earlier. I'll also post a couple of pictures from Valentine's Day parties.

Baseball Boys

Oh - now here it is - of course not the pictures I orignally wanted was just practicing here. Anyway you can see the view from our seats at the Alamo Bowl in January. It was a very odd sensation being in Aggie land with such good seats. We secretly bonded with other undercover Longhorn fans nearby. Marty spotted a longhorn emblem on one fan's phone case and showed him his longhorn watch... When the Aggie kids' whoops were too much for us we headed up to the free food and drinks and hung out there. I'll try again for the boys' baseball pictures.

Excuse the post below - obviously Marty got ahold of my editing capabilities. I am attempting to post pictures. They boys are really into baseball lately - mostly because they watched "The Sandlot" movie. Every night they want us to go outside and "play ball."

A New Adventure

Well - I've finally done it (I think). Composed a blog that is. I am learning as I go so hang in here with me for awhile. Today is the day before Valentine's Day and Noey and Colin and I have had a great morning. We went to art class and then off to the more than weekly trip to HEB. Don't you just love Valentine's Day?? I do just ask Marty. Anyway, we had more fun buying supplies and treats for the boys' parties at school tomorrow. Now I've just got to find the time to make and ice the cupcakes, address all the sweet hearts, get the present wrapped for the birthday party Nolan is going to tonight, and try to come up with something for the teachers tomorrow, and who knows what else before 5 o'clock this evening.
This evening, Matthew, Colin and I are off to pick up Grandpa and head over to the University to see Hillary - that's right Clinton. I really hope Matthew will cooperate and go with me and not insist on staying home with Grandma. The latest poll I took (thanks to Cara's blog) says I am most alligned with O'Bama but I am feeling sorry for Hillary at this point. Enough politics for now.

Some accomplishments to share...

Matthew: He is reading like crazy now (finally - his librarian mom's dream). He has read all of "Captain Underpants," "The Magic Treehouse," and is now on to "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" or something like that. He is on the A honor roll and easily makes the AR (accelerated reader) parties each 6 weeks at school. He has aslo decided he'd like to play coach-pitch baseball so we'll see how that goes. He won 1st place in his category (Wolves) of the pinewood derby race a few weeks ago (cub schouts). This made him very proud - I'll have to post a pic of the car which somehow ended up looking just like Jeff Gordon's... Can you say "like father, like son?"

Nolan: Nolan has finally adjusted to me working. He had a really, really hard time at first (even though I only work 2 days a week)! He is now a happy school boy again. I am so impressed with him because he wrote out all his own valentine's. He is doing well with letters and numbers and is almost ready for kindergarten. He has been building really cool "ships" with legos for the past 2 weeks and today built the letter E. I need to take some pics and post them. He also got a spy kit from Barnes and Noble this weekend and is having a blast playing spies. He is signed up to start t-ball this spring with his dad and another neighborhood dad as the coaches. I hope he enjoys this. I hope it helps him meet kids he'll be in kinder with next year.

Colin: Colin is actually growing very big and becoming more and more mature - however, he insists he is still "a baby" thus still using his pacifier and still in diapers. Marty says this is my fault because I like to keep him the baby as he is my last baby! I'm working on it but he's just so cute. He says prayers every night thanking God for his cousins. His asthma has been bad this month - I guess due to the cedar and he's had a hard time having so many breathing treatments. I took him to the doctor's office a week ago and in the waiting room he said "Mommy, what kind of check is it?" It took me awhile to figure out what he meant. I had told him we were going to the Doctor for a "well check." He loves school and is making lots of friends there.

Marty: Marty is doing well. We had reservations at our favorite restaurant for Valentine's Day but it looks he or we will be at the rodeo instead (hosting customers). I love the rodeo so I won't complain.
